Oh Sob, the organizers of Georgy-Alabam have decided that, due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, hosting Georgy-Alabam in January, 2021, poses too big of a health risk to all of our wonderful dancing friends and have canceled the weekend. They look forward to rebooting it in 2022. Stay posted. |
The Weekend in a Nutshell
On the weekend prior to MLK day each year, we hold our annual square dance weekend in the Bald Rock Lodge of Alabama's Cheaha State Park, the highest point in Alabama. Built by the WPA and since renovated, the lodge has a wonderful space for hosting a square dance. Since its inception we have had great well known square dance callers and great live square dance music.
Dancers stay in the reasonably priced motel rooms, cabins, chalets and camping facilities at the park. We provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and host one of the best pot lucks ever on Saturday night.
