Save the Dates February 24-26 for a movie, concert, a dance, and an art event with the Canote twins and Larry Edelman!
Saturday, Feb. 24th, 7:00PM to 10:00PM, YWCA: Dance to the music of Greg and Jere Canote and the calling of Larry Edelman. Larry will lead an evening of a rich variety of square dances, circles, and reels, interspersed with a fun assortment of couples dances such as waltzes, polkas, schottisches, two-steps, and one or two rarities. Admission, $10 per adult 19 and over, $5 per child 13-18, children 12 and under free.
Sunday, Feb 25th, 2:00PM to 4:00PM, home of Fred and Janet Wallace: A house concert by Greg and Jere, if you can get in. We've reached capacity, but you can put yourself on the waiting list here. Admission $20 per person.
Monday, Feb 26th, 1:00PM to 3:00PM, East Village Arts: An inspiring exhibit of local artist Craig Legg's trading card art based on photo records of Alabama Roots Music, Birmingham Jazz, and Alabama Rock and Roll. View Craig's art, meet him, and have a Q&A with the Canotes and Larry Edelman about the movie we will see that night. Free admission.
The main event! Monday, Feb 26th, 6:30PM to 9:00PM, Sidewalk Cinema: A screening of Larry Edelman's feature length documentary about Greg and Jere Canote entitled "The Canote Twins".In order to attend this screening, you must register in advance. Although we still have some available seating, it is filling up fast, so reserve your seats now before we have to start a waiting list.Free admission
